EGA Associates Medical Technologist Opportunity in New Haven, Connecticut

Experience Level: Three Years

MLT / MT assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this

contract is a nationally certified MLT / MT with three (3) years of recent chemistry,

urinalysis, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology experience.

The contractor’s personnel care shall cover the range of laboratory services,

as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of

care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized The Joint Commission, VA

and national standards as established by:

  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American

Medical Technologists (AMT)

  • The professional standards of the Joint Commission

  • The standards of the American Hospital Association (AHA)

  • The standards of the College of American Pathologists (CAP)

Duties Include: Chemistry: The employee will be expected to perform routine chemistry

testing on automated instrumentation (Abbott Architect ci8200, Abbott Alinity,

Tosoh G8, Advanced Instruments Osmos, Polymedco OC80, manual chemistry

tests) as well as routine daily and weekly quality control, and instrument

maintenance.

  • Urinalysis: The employee will be expected to perform routine chemistry

and urinalysis testing on automated instrumentation (Iris, Advanced Instruments

Osmos, Polymedco OC80, manual chemistry tests) as well as routine daily and

weekly quality control, and instrument maintenance.

  • Blood Bank: The employee will be expected to perform routine blood

bank duties to include cross matching, antibody screening and identification,

selected cell panels, processing in blood and blood products as part of weekly

issue or emergency requests, and routine daily and weekly quality control

procedures using tube and gel technology.

  • Hematology/Coagulation: The employee will be expected to perform

routine hematology and coagulation testing on automated instrumentation

(Sysmex XN, ACL Top, Alcor iSed, manual hematology and coagulation tests)

as well as routine daily and weekly quality control, and instrument maintenance.
