Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, Position Description Number D1728000 and is part of the DE 166 Operation Support Squadron, National Guard. Responsibilities WG-4818-11: 1. Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded worker(s). 2. Utilizes knowledge and skills of the journey level as well as those required to plan, accomplish, and maintain a functional shop maintenance program. 3. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment, and material requirements. 4. Devises and maintains all program plans and records, performs surveillance and troubleshooting, and determines maintenance/repair procedures to be utilized. 5. Plans, organizes, and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. 6. Determines approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. 7. Provides recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc. 8. Performs the full range of journey level work of the shop. 9. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. 10. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-5/SSgt - E-7/MSgt Compatible Military Assignments: 1P071 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-11 - Must have a minimum of 18 months of experience or training which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential. DEFINITION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience must be closely related to the work to be performed in the job for which you are applying and meet education, and other qualifications listed in the job announcement MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. *Other Requirements - For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
