Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking part time Student Research Assistants for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS).
The Student Research Assistants will work under the supervision of Dr. Sara Heinert. The Student Research Assistants will assist Dr. Heinert with a research study to better understand how patient-reported feedback loops for diagnostic excellence could work in the real-world, as well as other research studies as needed. This is an hourly grant-funded position. Work locations will include remote, RWJMS offices, and the RWJ University Hospital Emergency Department. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Be highly motivated to obtain knowledge on project-related research topics including emergency medicine and public health.
  • Participate in phone, electronic, and in-person communications and meetings with principal investigator and study team to support the development and improvement of programs.
  • Assist with project activities as needed, including participant recruitment, consent, scheduling, interviewing participants off-site or online to collect quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Works with principal investigator to develop appropriate and detailed standard operating procedures, training manuals and other materials for study conduct and data collection.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Satisfactory completion of High School/Undergraduate degree and currently enrolled in undergraduate/graduate studies at Rutgers University.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possess efficient organizational, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications including word processing and excel, online searching, and email, and fluency with learning new software applications.
  • Candidate should demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet time deadlines.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter who is detail oriented, analytical, has strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
