The Division of Enrollment Management at Rutgers University-New Brunswick (EMNB) is comprised of eight student-facing and administrative units: Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of the Registrar, and the One Stop Student Services Center, as well as business, information technology, and strategy and analytics administrative teams.The Rutgers University-New Brunswick Office of Graduate Admissions supports graduate programs in enrolling a diverse and inclusive graduate student community committed to excellence in research, innovation, and service. Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I (Graduate Admissions) for the Office of Graduate Admissions within the Division of Enrollment Management. The Program Coordinator I (Graduate Admissions) plays a key role in the prospective student experience from inquiry to enrollment. This position will report to the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Promotes a progressive and simplified student experience, and a culture that supports customer service, student satisfaction, and a streamlined pathway to enrollment.
  • Assists students in navigating the application and enrollment process at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
  • Counsels, advises, investigates, problem-solves, and resolves questions and issues from students, staff, academic units, and other third parties related to the graduate admissions process.
  • Acts as a facilitator to navigate the prospective student experience and be knowledgeable about general functions across the Offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounting, Billing and Cashiering, One Stop, University Enrollment Services, and Graduate Academic Units.
  • Develops specialized knowledge through their experience, extensive and regular professional development, and collaboration with various campus partners.
  • Assists in recruitment efforts, including but not limited to, event planning support, outreach, presentations, and participation in the Office of Graduate Admissions activities.
  • Works as a front-line team member within the department and collaborates across all RU-NB schools and programs as well as student services offices with the expected outcome of moving students through the admissions funnel with greater customer service.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with students or customers in a service-oriented environment.
Certifications/Licenses

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, critical thinking, administrative, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to meet expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic customer-oriented environment with flexibility to accommodate adjusting priorities.
  • Sensitive to cultural diversity and backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make independent decisions.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, student information systems, CRM.
  • Have a passion for customer service and provide an exceptional degree of responsiveness.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks while handling interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education, preferably in an admissions office or graduate education setting.
  • Working knowledge of student information systems (Salesforce CRM a plus).

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift and carry recruitment materials.
