Department | SAS - Physics & Astronomy |
Salary | Commensurate With Experience |
Posting Summary | The Department of Physics and Astronomy/SAS at Rutgers University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in experimental condensed matter physics, with a focus on superconducting quantum science and computing. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field, and demonstrate research excellence and strong collaboration skills. Experience in superconducting circuits, engineered quantum systems, low-temperature physics, or nanofabrication is highly welcomed. The successful candidate will work on realizing novel quantum computing architectures and quantum simulators that integrate low-loss multimode microwave cavities with superconducting circuits. These devices will be used for demonstrations of analog quantum simulations, quantum gates, and quantum error correction. The postdoctoral associate will collaborate with the Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems (SQMS) Quantum Center at Fermilab to develop processors with Niobium SRF cavities with cavity lifetimes approaching 100 ms. Additionally, the associate will have the opportunity to work on a collaborative grant, focusing on realizing error-resilient modular multimode processors integrated with flux-tunable couplers and ancillary circuits, funded by the Army Research Office. |
