DATTCO Inc Accounting Specialist in NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut

DATTCO has a full-time Accounting Specialist opening at our New Britain, CT office. This position ensures timely, accurate completion of driver payroll totals for transmittal to the corporate payroll department. You will work with finance and sales teams to ensure timely collections and reporting of Accounts Receivable activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Driver Payroll Support
  • Enter driver actuals into software system
  • Enter non-revenue hours into software
  • Save all work tickets on network
  • Prepare weekly payroll file to be submitted to corporate accounting
  • Work with dispatchers and drivers to resolve all discrepancies
  1. Accounts Receivable
  • Prepare and submit monthly Department of Transportation (DOT) billing
  • Refresh aging weekly
  • Collections
  1. Reporting
  • Weekly gratuity reporting
  • Weekly paid time off (PTO) cash out reporting
  1. Data Integration
  • Assist with testing during transition to ensure data is coming in accurately
  • Assist with education/process flow if needed to ensure full understanding of what data is required

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience in a multi-faceted role, with some knowledge of billing and analytics
  • Self-starter
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with payroll heavily weighted in the beginning of the week
  • Strong organization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new systems/work flows quickly and create efficiencies independently
  • Able to prioritize work
