Job Title: Service Technician

Job Description

• We are seeking a field service technician who will begin in the shop performing bench mechanic service and repair work.

• Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair, low and high voltage wire replacement, mechanical diagnosis, minor repairs using hand and power tools, and pulling parts as needed for mechanical repairs.

• The technician will need to diagnose and order new parts as needed (e.g., wire harnesses).

• A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a valid driver's license are required. The role involves handling custom orders over the phone and computer system, and working with both internal employees and vendors/customers.

• Eventually, the technician will transition to a field service role, traveling to different sites throughout the metro area to perform service and repair work.

Hard Skills

• 6+ months in a mechanical role (e.g., appliance service tech, forklift service tech, auto mechanic, tire technician, manufacturing tech, electrician, mechanical assembler, electro mechanical assembler, panel builder, facilities tech, maintenance tech)

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Excellent mechanical aptitude

• Pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

• Possess a valid driver's license

• Provide own tools (basic mechanics set plus volt/amp meters)

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean and organized with very high racks to pull orders from up to three levels high on a cherry picker.

Close-toed shoes are required, but shorts can be worn in the summer.

The repair section feels like a general mechanic shop with 3-4 people working in the area.

The warehouse is large and busy. After completing the training program, the technician will move to a field service role, traveling throughout the Twin Cities to perform onsite service and repair work.

The team consists of 20 people on the first shift and 15 people on the second shift.

The job typically runs from 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime. Pay rate is $20-24/hr, potentially increasing to $28/hr for those with spot-on experience.
