Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate activities applying knowledge of production methods, processes, machines and equipment.
Provide leadership, direction and training for departmental employees and take necessary action to assure that Safety Practices, Quality standards, production schedules, housekeeping standards and cost goals are met.
Responsible for all calibration, gage procurement and inspection conducted by Quality department employees.
Participate in the collection, data entry, analysis and distribution of information and data used to measure process and product from receiving, in-process and finished products.
Assist in the creation of data collection systems, collection and manipulation of data, in conjunction with quality department initiatives.
Work with production and Quality Engineering to ensure statistical techniques provide meaningful information and data.
Coordinate the activities of assigned work centers and take necessary action to assure performance goals are met.
Analyze and diagnose production problems (unavoidable delays, material shortages, tooling problems, equipment malfunctions, etc) and coordinate appropriate containment and corrective action through multiple departments and facilities.
Develop, participate, and analyze data required for an adequate measurement system analysis (MSA). Actively use quality / project management tools to resolve complex problems or manage directives assigned by Quality management.
Responsible for planning and activities associated with maintenance, repair and replacement of inspection equipment and technology either directly or through direction to subordinates.
Plan continuous improvement in inspection practices, calibration and gage technology.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Four-year relevant degree and five years’ experience in a quality related environment, or a two-year degree and ten years’ experience, or relevant experience. Non-degree considered if 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED
ASQ certified SSGB or SSBB desirable.
Principles and practices of employee supervision, including work planning, assignment review and evaluation, discipline and the training of inspection staff.
Requires an individual with good communication skills with ability to teach others and participate with teams.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and possess working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is required.
Must be able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
This position requires an individual with the flexibility to commute to, and work at various Company locations (New Bremen, New Knoxville, Ft. Loramie, Celina, etc.) while based out of the New Bremen campus.
Manufacturing knowledge and/or experience preferred.
