Craven Community College Plumbing Instructor (Part-time) in New Bern, North Carolina

: Craven Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Plumbing classes in the Workforce Development Department. Openings for these positions may not exist at the present time; however upon review of your qualifications, you may be contacted directly by the department on an as needed basis.

Day and/or evening classes.

: - Instruct, advise, guide and assist students to achieve job skills and social skills necessary to become employed in the plumbing industry - Integrate classroom and hands-on experience enabling students to demonstrate competencies - Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning - Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students' needs - Oversee day-to-day operation of the class - Recruit and provide orientation for new students in the program - Maintain class records; prepare and submit instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy - Follow all safety and security procedures and notify the campus leadership of deficiency - Provide feedback to program supervisor regarding student progress and/or comprehension of course content in classroom or in theory classes - Ensures confidentiality of all student records and student information - Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skill in subject specialty - Motivate and encourage students to successfully complete their program - Promote community awareness of program opportunities - Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College - Requires flexible hours; days, nights and possibly weekends

: Specialized training and industry certifications in the plumbing trade and applications required.

Competency gained through work experience. **Preferred:** NCCERCertification.

: - Up-to-date knowledge and skill in subject specialty - Able to demonstrate a variety of instructional techniques and methods - Self-directed, organized, task and detail oriented and flexible - Creates and executes quality interactive lesson plans
