Carolina Ground Service Equipment Field Service Equipment Technician in New Bern, North Carolina
PJi / Carolina GSE seeks an experiencedField Service Equipment Technicianfor our New Bern, NC distribution and service center to support our mission of providing exceptional service. As an integral member of the PJi service team, theField Service Equipment Techniciansupports our business aviation customers worldwide. The Field Service Equipment Technician will support our PJi business aviation customers worldwideby their ability to troubleshoot, repair, and service:
- Electrical equipment
- Hydraulic equipment
- Air pressurization equipment
- Hydraulic jacks
- Automotive style equipment
- Small engine, gas engine, and diesel engine
The Field Service Equipment Technician will support our PJi business aviation customers worldwideby their proficiency in:
- AC (single and three phase) and DC voltage
- Following manufacturer test procedures
- Using electrical test equipment such as multimeters and ammeters
- Using a computer and an iPad
- Documenting your work
- Organizational skills
- Working as a team member and individually
- Using maintenance personuals
- Reading schematics
- Problem solving
- Evaluating and inspecting equipment
- Operating box trucks, forklifts, and equipment once certified or trained
- Using tools and equipment such as basic hand tools, grinders, cut off wheels, jacks and jackstands, impact guns, rivet guns, torque wrenches, saws, and presses

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior service experience preferred.
- Prior experience or knowledge of service, shipping or logistics is helpful.
- Proficient in computer applications and Internet navigation (proficiency in Apple products is desired)
- A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Education/Experience:A degree from a two to four-year college, university or trade school is recommended; or one to two years related experience and/or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Ability:Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
