Chobani PIT Training Coordinator - Monday - Friday - 8AM - 4:30PM (New Berlin, NY) in New Berlin, New York

Summary

The PIT Training Coordinator will work with the Safety, Warehouses & Operations departments to develop, improve and facilitate PIT training activities. They will be the main point of contact for certification of all new PIT operators and providing the 3-year recertification required by OSHA. They will work with supervisors, leads and operators to identify training needs, develop training materials and then deliver this training as needed within the organization. This position will play a key role in reducing critical impact alerts and certifying operators to operate various types of Powered Industrial Trucks within the facility. 

Responsibilities

•    Responsible for assisting the Chobani Environmental Health & Safety Department in assigned workload.   •    Assist with managing PIT training for effective implementation of policies and procedures under the supervision of the Safety & Training Managers.  •    Provide all new hire and transferring employee PIT classroom trainings and practical evaluations. •    Provide all required recertification trainings and practical evaluations for all operators •    Lead investigations for all PIT equipment lockout events, incidents, and property damage.  •    Develop, track, and improve post-incident retraining. •    Oversees the Post Incident Train the Trainer Program.  •    Assist Safety team with Yale Vision/Info Link account management and user access control. •    Audit Training Records and employee access to systems to ensure only authorized employees are operating lifts. •    New Lift verification to Chobani standards. •    Assist Safety team with Speed Limit control and audits. •    Participate in the selection process of PIT operators.  •    Ensure that training and testing documents are accurately, consistently, and properly documented and maintained. •    Report progress against planned activities in a timely and concise manner. •    New hire follow-up post onboarding. •    Ability to work independently and in a team environment.  •    Enforces Chobani PIT policies in accordance with OSHA regulations. •    Follow Chobani’s safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.  •    Support site Safety Committee and subsequent follow-up actions. •    Data entry and communication on company safety metrics. 

Requirements

•    High school diploma or equivalent required, and Associates degree preferred.  •    Minimum 2 years training experience is preferred  •    Minimum 3-5 years’ of operating a PIT in a manufacturing setting •    Experience with several types of PITs is preferred  •    Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications •    Ability to train effectively to various skill levels •    Strong written and verbal communication skills •    Experience with or ability to work with clients of diverse backgrounds and cultures.  •    Ability to flex schedule to meet the needs of all shifts
