PPG INDUSTRIES, INC. Process Automation Engineer in New Albany, Ohio
The Automation Process Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding the automation and electrical controls of our company's facilities and equipment. This position will focus on planning and implementing strategic automation objectives while upholding our values and goals of safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing and expanding automation in our New Albany facility, ensuring safety standards and executing capital and expense projects to align with the company's growth objectives. Key Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Facility Engineering Manager at our New Albany. Develop and maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Maintain and expand the use of automated vision inspection and other on-line gauging systems within the facility. Assist Maintenance team with complex troubleshooting of automation and electrical controls issues on facility and production equipment. Implement appropriate root cause and corrective action measures to prevent reoccurrence of chronic facility and equipment issues. Execute capital and expense projects for new and existing facility and equipment improvements, following budgetary considerations. Maintain work areas to industry standards of 5S organization and cleanliness. Maintain appropriate electrical certifications (i.e. ARCFlash, etc) as required within scope of position. Perform other duties as required within the scope of responsibility. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical (preferred), or related field) or equivalent experience Proficiency in PLC systems, robotic automation, and troubleshooting Capital project management experience PPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
