The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Division of Water Resources is seeking to fill a Staff 2, Associate Engineer position located in Carson City. The duties and responsibilities of this position include to work closely with the Section Chief and Division Administrators in the development of a statewide water plan and drought resiliency plan as well as the analysis of water use and water availability data for the purposes of water planning and drought resiliency. The incumbent will use GIS as a tool to analyze and display water resource related data. Review water conservation plans for compliance with the provisions of chapter 540 of the Nevada Revised Statutes. The Engineer will consult and coordinate with local government entities in developing and updating water resource plans. The incumbent will conduct public outreach meetings and events disseminating information on water planning and drought resiliency. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or closely related engineering field and two years of professional engineering experience; OR Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern, and two years of professional engineering experience in civil engineering or closely related engineering field; OR two years of experience as a Staff I, Associate Engineer or Supervisor I, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Notes

A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.The Examination
