The Position

Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This posting is for a position in the Minor Source Compliance Branch of the Bureau of Air Pollution Control. This will be used to underfill the Professional Engineer. Compliance duties include reviewing reports and stack test data from facilities, inspecting facilities and records, communicating with facilities to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, investigating air pollution complaints, and drafting compliance orders to amend permit requirements. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Examination

Application Evaluation Exam

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
