APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $54,434.16 to $80,053.92 PAY GRADE: 31

The Position

Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform a variety of duties at the sub-journey level while receiving training for advancement to an entry-level professional class related to fiscal or business management functions in State government.

Incumbents continue to receive training in performing the duties relevant to the class they are underfilling. This is the final trainee level in the series and incumbents may progress to the appropriate professional series they are underfilling upon meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with the recommendation of the appointing authority.

This opening is for a Fiscal/Business Professional Trainee 3 (Underfill for Accountant Technician 2) within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy Fiscal Services Unit in Carson City. The Division of Health Care Financing and Policy works in partnership with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to assist in providing quality medical care for eligible individuals and families with low incomes and limited resources. Services are provided through a combination of traditional fee-for-service(FFS) provider networks and managed care(MCO). The Accountant Technician II position in the Fiscal Services unit is responsible for several critical functions within the unit that are performed on a routine basis including, but not limited to, completing regular audits of cash receipt data and reconciling that data with vendor provided information. This position will also supply support in the completion of many federal reporting supplemental workbooks; the components of which will be used in the reporting of the CMS 64.9, CMS 64.10, CMS 2, CMS 21B, CMS 37 and other such reports. In addition, the incumbent will be tasked with assisting with maintaining the time tracking system. THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of technical and/or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field and one year of experience as described above; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, or closely related; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Special Requirements

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

Additional Position Criteria

This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
