Responsibilities
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9 hours between 7:00am and 4:00pm
No Holidays, No Weekends, No Call!
Core Position Duties: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Address environmental, equipment, and engineering issues that affect patient care delivery; determine appropriate course of action including test cancellations and initiating system changes.
Performs test and accurately transcribes and prepares data for physician interpretations.
Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary.
Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted standards. Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary.
Perform administrative duties as identified by the Supervisor, Medical Director, or Commander.
Screens, checks in, and escorts patients to treatment areas.
Accurately prepares room and patient for examinations, therapeutic measures and procedures assuring all needed equipment and supplies are available prior to the start of the exam
Obtains, monitors, and records physiological measurements
Triages urgent needs
Performs medical treatment, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per extender treatment protocols
Maintains and/or assists with appropriate and accurate health record storage and retrieval systems
Prepares and submits administrative reports
Provides patient/parent education as requested
Performs or assists with the performance of specialized testing (EEG and NCS) and examinations
Upon completion of procedures and examinations, properly cleans and organizes room and performs any necessary cleaning of equipment as established by departmental policies and procedures and standards
Performs paraprofessional portions of preventative health examinations and physical examinations
Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift. Ensure preventative maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
Provides patients with the utmost care and attention. All patients shall be assured of their privacy and personal dignity.
Prepares all documentation to meet or exceed established standards of the MTF, to include, but not limited to, timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature. Only MTF and Air Force approved abbreviations shall be used for documentation of the patient health record.
Program montages on sleep acquisition systems; troubleshoot acquisition and scoring program issues.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Education: Must have a current Electro-Neuro diagnostic technologist certificate from an accredited national, state or military trained equivalent program
* Experience: Must have at least 24 months of documented experience independently performing electroencephalograms and nerve conduction studies in a patient care setting with scoring within the past 36 months.
* Licensure/Certification: Neurology Specific registration is required. R.E.E.G.T, R.NCS.T is highly desired
* Life Support Certification: Possess and maintain a current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
