Summary

Mission Technologies, a Division of HII, seeks an experienced Project Manager as a member of the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV.

What you will do

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements

  • Determine project schedule by consulting with subject matter experts; studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements

  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems;

  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions

  • Define, generate, and review project requirements documentation

  • Monitor project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis

  • Ensure that project management and organizational processes are followed

  • Prepare briefs and present to multiple levels within participating organizations

  • Other tasking as designated by supervisor

What you must have

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience

  • Experience managing complex project plans

  • Experience working in a government contracting environment

  • Be self-motivated and show a driven desire to succeed with minimal direction

  • Proven ability to work both in a team and individually

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language

  • Must have an active or current DoD Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Clearance

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in both traditional PM and Agile environments

  • Experience working in a Joint Simulation Environment (JSE).

  • Understand the full software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Proficiency in software engineering tools

  • Experience with configuration management tools

  • Certification in Project/Program Management (e.g. PMP, PgMP, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and/or MS Project

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
