Position Summary/Description:
Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine’s Working Forward initiative. As such, this position’s work location is designated as hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit’s business needs.
The Caregiving Workforce Strategic Leadership Council (Council), which was co-convened by NC Department of Health and Human Services and NC Department of Commerce, issued a report identifying 61 action steps across 15 strategies to improve how the state address workforce shortages in nursing, behavioral health, and direct care. The report tasks the NC Center on the Workforce for Health with coordinating and facilitating implementation of those initiatives and supporting long-term engagement of the Council.
The Caregiving Workforce Analyst will play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership and coordination of the Caregiving Workforce Strategic Leadership Council. This position is integral to addressing workforce shortages in nursing, behavioral health, and direct care across North Carolina. The Analyst will be responsible for high-level project management, strategic planning, and policy analysis, requiring advanced knowledge and independent judgment.
Education and Experience:
Demonstrated experience with health, education, and/or workforce policy.
Proven project management experience.
Essential Skills:
Strong research and writing experience.
Proficient in policy analysis and research, with the ability to synthesize content from a broad range of sources.
Excellent written communication skills, capable of transforming complex information into clear, accessible materials.
Ability to interact professionally with senior-level individuals (e.g., local, state, and national policymakers), stakeholders, and organizations.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varied responsibilities and adaptable to changing needs.
Proficient in standard computing software (including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the capacity to learn additional job-specific programs as required.
