Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Interpret Maintenance Instruction Manuals, maintenance requirement cards, work from related schematics, diagrams, drawings, technical directives, maintenance/servicing instructions operational written procedures, and Company directives to perform maintenance.

  • Install and remove cartridge-actuated devices.

  • Maintain aircraft ALSS history records in the required logs and records.

  • Performs inspections and maintenance of aircraft air conditioning systems, and fire warning/extinguishing systems. Identifies and treats corrosion.

  • Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, removes, and replaces associated parts and components on a variety of systems, such as aircraft mounted and aircrew ALSS (survival equipment), cabin environmental and pressurization systems, equipment cooling, liquid, and gaseous oxygen systems.

  • Perform related duties in hazardous areas such as oxygen systems, and engine fire extinguishing systems including the removal and replacement of cartridge-actuated devices.

  • Maintains foreign object damage (FOD), hazardous waste, and tool control programs.

  • Shall adhere to all applicable V2X policies and procedures

  • Possess a high degree of expertise in aircraft systems.

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions, and special tools and test equipment.

  • Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems.

  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention, and treatment of corrosion.

  • Must be customer-oriented.

  • Must have completed the US Navy AME “A” School Egress Course.

  • Shall have completed and be able to document the appropriate T/M required/ series preferred Navy Egress class “C” school.

  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.

  • Shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned. Recent experience with C-130, N P-3C, and N P-3 AIP+ assigned aircraft required.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position by NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series.

  • Initial Medical Provider clearance for Ordnance with recurring annual clearance/physical examination required.

  • This classification activity is usually accomplished in a hangar/shop/flight line environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities.

  • Position regularly requires standing, walking, use of hands and fingers to handle, grip, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking or hearing.

  • Frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces and ladder work and working at heights at or above 40 feet is required.

  • Must be able to routinely lift and/or move weights over OSHA standards.

  • The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, snow, ice, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.

Experience & Education:

  • Shall have 5 years of USN/USMC/USCG O-level CNAFINST 4790.2 series aircraft maintenance support experience.

  • Shall have a minimum of 3 years T.M. required/series preferred aircraft maintenance experience for the specific T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain.

  • Required to obtain a Govt. issued Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Shall possess or can qualify for a Secret Clearance as required.

  • Shall possess or can qualify for a U.S. state driver’s license.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Must be able to work all assigned shifts & schedules.

Preferred:

  • Travel may be required.
