United States Fleet Forces Command SUPERVISORY DEPUTY SHIPYARD PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT in Naval Shipyard, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY DEPUTY SHIPYARD PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT in the Electrical/Electronics Shop (Code 950), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will analyze, evaluate, and adjust shop manpower resources, work operations, equipment, and facilities against current and future scheduled work requirements. You will identify the need for changes to processes or procedures. You will maintain a balance of nuclear qualified workers and ensure the availability of necessary resources to accomplish assigned work. You will gather and analyze data to determine the problems in the shop and evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. You will ensure that an adequately trained workforce is available to execute both the shipyard planned workload and surge allowance. You will operate within an assigned budget and attain budget goals. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing and adjusting manpower, operations, and equipment to accomplish assigned work. Experience coordinating with various shops to plan and fabricate work. Experience approving training to ensure an adequate workforce. Experience operating within the assigned budget to minimize cost and to ensure equipment is properly maintained. Experience managing various levels of shop supervisors and trades people. Experience defining, developing and approving training courses that are administered by the training superintendent.
