Commander, Navy Installations LEAD TRANSPORTATION ASSITANT (AIR OPERATIONS) in Naval Base, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a LEAD TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (AIR OPERATIONS) in the Command and Control Branch, Air Terminal Operations Division of NAVAL AIR TERMINAL. Responsibilities You will provide operational and technical data to Air Mobility Command (AMC) and subordinate unit command duty officers regarding aircraft mission and ground handling. You will use computerized data for obtaining basic information on a Domestic Military Plan for continental flights and International Flight Plans prior to the arrival of a military aircraft. You will manage the handling and storage of aircrew classified material and weapons. You will research discrepancies to resolve transportation issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Applying knowledge of transportation principles, policies, regulations, methods, and techniques relating to the movement of cargo/freight; 2) Completing activities performed in support of aircraft (manned or unmanned) and avionics to provide operational ground and terminal support, port operations support, aircraft load information support, flight planning support, or fuel and service order support required by aircraft to support ground operations and meet mission requirements; 3) Analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and making timely and effective recommendations to solve transportation/air terminal operation issues; and 4) Collaborating, coordinating, and communicating with various supervisors, Command agencies, Command officers, and other crew members in person, in writing, and over radio systems.
