We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. This role is in the finance industry and involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will be expected to handle various accounting tasks, such as managing the month-end close, journal entries, and budgeting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded.

• Develop and maintain the annual budget, including forecasting and variance analysis.

• Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure all financial deadlines are met.

• Analyze financial reports for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.

• Provide input into department’s goal setting process.

• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.

• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance

Requirements • Position: Staff Accountant

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in Month End Close procedures

• Experience in preparing and analyzing Journal Entries

• Demonstrable skills in Budgeting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases

• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting

• Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
