The WHS Worldwide Ergonomics and Safety Experience (WESE) team is seeking a detailed-oriented, experienced Senior Program Manager to lead the Ergonomics Policy Implementation team vertical.

This team will partner closely with Governance and External Affairs, Legal, and Operations Excellence to drive awareness of, and adherence to, the ergonomics policies and procedures with the goal of driving site-specific risk reduction. This role will lead the following ergonomics areas: risk assessment management, legal and governance interface, procedure implementation, and material management. This position requires an experienced, customer-obsessed leader, with deep project management expertise, who can lead a team of policy managers to deliver results via cross organizational programs, working through ambiguity, forging cross-discipline relationships, and influencing senior leaders and executives.

This role requires travel 25% of the time.

Key job responsibilities

• Drive implementation of ergonomics policies and procedures at Amazon globally

• Identify and address customer and business pain points by actively deep diving into data and operational processes, and by working with cross-functional teams

• Write effective Amazon documents and ensure high quality content for stakeholders

• Work backwards – demonstrate planning capability to execute on deliverables

• Provide effective communication to customers and stakeholders across regions

• Collect, analyze, and present data to drive decision making, as required

• Anticipate bottlenecks and blockers, assess risks, mitigate issues, and troubleshoot, as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and safety or a related degree

  • Project Management Professional certification

  • 10+ years of relevant management and policy experience

  • Experience prioritizing complex deliverables, understanding and discussing technical concepts, managing trade-offs, and running meetings with technical and business leaders

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Strategic thinking experience with an eye for tactical details

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Successful record of accomplishment working with other teams within the company, using a high degree of influence and a relationship-based approach to achieve results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration

  • Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others

  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships and networks with others

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
