Humana Senior Project Manager in Nashville, Tennessee

The Senior Project Manager is an individual with Project Management skills who is a servant leader ready to support projects and products in support of Humana Government Business (HGB). The Senior Project Manager will manage assignments that involve all aspects of Program Delivery including but not limited to Risk Management, Project Management Office, and Records Management.

The Senior Project Manager will identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project. Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities and allocates tasks to meet project targets and milestones. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Develop and maintain positive relationships and work closely with business segment leaders and key associates to meet the goals of Humana Government Business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

50% Project Execution : Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities and allocates tasks to meet project targets and milestones. monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Effectively manages the project by creating and maintaining Project Plan, RAID log and other required project documents.

20% Project Planning and Management : Coordinating and leading team deliverables utilizing Project Management fundamentals, setting priorities, and coordinating project team to meet project targets and milestones.

20% Resources and Communication : Work with functional area leaders to identify, develop and gather the resources to complete the project. Communicates with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Develops and manages the communication plan based on the needs of the organization and the project/program.

10% Drives Results and Maintains Momentum : Effectively leverages resources to create exceptional outcomes. Anticipates and constructively resolves barriers and constraints. Report on project success criteria results, metrics, status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of Project Management experience

  • Expertise and experience in program management, problem solving and issues mitigation

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to include the ability to communicate and present technical/financial/project details to senior level leadership and/or senior level internal and external partners/leaders

  • Strong experience ideally working within a large matrixed organization

  • Critical thinker who can anticipate team needs and take initiative to present ideas, ask the right questions and deliver the highest quality work

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously and adapt and shift to changing needs

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products for business presentations including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and/or Project

  • Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position

  • HGB is not authorized to do work in Puerto Rico per our government contract. We are not able to hire candidates that are currently living in Puerto Rico

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • PMP or equivalent certification

  • 5 or more years of Project Management Information Systems experience - ie. Project Online, Teams, Smartsheets, Jira, etc

  • Federal government contract experience

  • 5 or more years' experience in the fields of operations, organizational development or customer service

  • Lean; Six Sigma Certification

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$84,600 - $116,300 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
