Job Description

Prime Therapeutics is going through an exciting transformation to modernize our product portfolio and associated technology platforms. This role provides technical vision and leadership skills to align IT solutions to business outcomes and provide architectural oversight for strategic initiatives impacting Prime’s State Government Solutions line of business, products, capabilities, and technologies.

The Enterprise Portfolio Architect is responsible for initiating and leading strategic capability changes that fulfill specific business and technology outcomes. These capability changes include new products, strategic initiatives, systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and information), shared infrastructure services and shared application services. The Enterprise Portfolio Architect leads the architecture definition tasks to support the realization of enterprise solutions that cross multiple domains to ensure that the resulting solutions meet the business needs and align with architecture governance and standards. This position owns the creation of deliverables that help develop target-state guidance for evolving the architecture across the enterprise for this line of business

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or facilitate the State Government Solutions portfolio strategy development to achieve enterprise goals and objectives

  • Actively manage, communicate, and market the State Government Solutions portfolio strategy via creation and maintenance of architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and executive presentations

  • Promote decision-making at the appropriate organizational level and identify opportunities for shared capabilities to reduce costs, improve integration, and reduce duplication

  • Lead the architecture and solution definition for strategic products, initiatives and programs impacting State Government Solutions capabilities. Identify investments, evaluate and size impacts and support business case development for strategic initiatives

  • Maintain awareness, research, drive, and lead adoption of emerging technology trends, disruptions, and practices relevant to the portfolio

  • Engage key business and IT stakeholders to identify business and technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable and drive business outcomes

  • Assist in the development of policies, standards, guidelines, and reference implementations that direct the selection, solution, implementation, and use of Information Technology within the enterprise

  • Develop, maintain, and evolve the architecture and architecture blueprint (current state, transition state, and future state) within assigned area and across dependent business areas

  • Lead the analysis of the business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommend investments for improvement

  • Govern architecturally significant work, aligning it with business and IT strategies, through architecture reviews, solution architecture, and application architecture collaboration

  • Work closely cross-functionally with business, and IT stakeholders to drive a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product and solution lifecycle

  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and architecture peers to develop architecture that enables and drive new business capabilities and operating models

  • Drive architecture practice process consistency and continuously improve enterprise and portfolio architecture practices for the assigned area

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

  • 10 years of related work experience in Business Analysis, System Design and Development, Systems Engineering, or technical architecture; to include 5 years direct experience working within an Architect role

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Significant business analysis and business architecture experience consisting of business capability modeling, value stream definition and optimization, design thinking, business process optimization and business case development

  • Experience defining and standardizing architecture definition for assigned domain

  • Advanced ability to communicate and present effectively at multiple levels of the organization

  • Ability to define, plan, initiate and lead architecture and teams for assigned area and scope

  • Demonstrate wide understanding of multiple domain areas, with ability to apply practical and pragmatic solutions

  • Self-learner, ability to work independently and direct the learning and work of others

  • Experience handling all of solution types, ranging from organization and process to implementing new system builds, legacy enhancements, commercial-off-the-shelf packages, and Cloud solutions

  • Experience as a senior level architect working on significant enterprise initiatives

  • Previous experience working with enterprise architecture tools

  • Previous experience with SAFe Agile Framework

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practitioner knowledge of business architecture and enterprise architecture development

  • Experience working with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA and/or PCI)

  • Previous experience in Pharmacy Benefit Administration, Pharmacy Benefit Management, or health care

  • Previous experience working an in Agile/Product Delivery model

  • Strong experience with software development life cycle and project management principles

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education

  • In-depth knowledge of two or more architectural domains (business, data, application, , technology)

  • Formal Business Architecture and/or Enterprise Architecture training and certification

  • Experience modeling Enterprise Architectures with industry standard modeling notation

Minimum Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Reporting Structure

Reports to AVP Enterprise Architecture

Potential pay for this position ranges from $132,600.00 - $211,800.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
