The Role

As the Sr Lead Planning Engineer for Lumen Digital, you will support Lumen Digital's ability to provide a fast, flexible, simple, and secure experience for customers. This involves strategic planning, deployment, optimization, and integration of Lumen Digital's offerings such as Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), Edge Fabric, and Security as composable solutions. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the network services are scalable, flexible, and efficient, meeting the evolving needs of customers.

The Main Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to expand the Lumen Digital product line, aligning with business goals and market demand.

• Oversee the deployment and management of Lumen Digital offerings, ensuring they deliver flexible, scalable, and cost-effective networking solutions.

• Manage the capital budget for Lumen Digital products, optimizing resources for maximum efficiency.

• Drive innovation in operational processes and product offerings, focusing on customization, flexibility, and integration with existing products.

• Communicate direction and changes effectively, ensuring team alignment and commitment to operational excellence and innovation.

• Collaborate with various teams across the organization to support strategic priorities, improve customer satisfaction, and drive the successful rollout of new services.

• Lead the technical aspects of Lumen Digital expansion, focusing on IP peering and connectivity solutions.

• Ensure operational readiness from Layer 1 through 5, defining actions, workflows, and cross-company dependencies.

• Develop and complete continuous monitoring reports and briefings.

• Manage and oversee the development and implementation of proof-of-concept models.

• Maintain high standards of customer experience through all technical and operational processes.

• Develop and implement strategies for compute and cloud infrastructure planning, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and efficiency in cloud services.

• Oversee the planning, deployment, and optimization of infrastructure to support Lumen Digital's services, ensuring robust and reliable performance.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years of capacity planning and budgeting for a large enterprise network.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

• Experience in analytical and data management tasks.

• Proven ability to develop plans, prioritize activities, and drive execution.

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational capabilities.

• Independent work ethic with minimal need for direct supervision.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver executive presentations.

• Proven Subject Matter Expertise in various network layers, processes, and applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Ciena Wave Systems and Digital Transformation of legacy transport systems.

• Experience in supporting enterprise-grade DWDM and IP networks.

• Expertise in managing large data quantities and creating models to track and forecast growth.

• Knowledge of large-scale data processing platforms like Power BI, Splunk, Spark, R, or Kibana.

• Knowledge of MS Visio.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY

$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
