Emmy Squared Pizza Restaurant Training Manager in Nashville, Tennessee

Emmy Squared is a rapidly growing restaurant company known for our signature Detroit-style pizza, famed double-stack, Le Big Matt burger, crave-able appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and crafted cocktails. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences through our innovative menu, outstanding service, and welcoming atmosphere. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced New Restaurant Opening Training Manager to join our team and ensure the successful launch of new locations.

As the Restaurant Training Manager, you will oversee the training and development of staff for new restaurant openings. This role is responsible for implementing comprehensive training programs, ensuring all team members are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide an exceptional dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant operations, training, and team development. This position requires extensive travel as it will be supporting the Greater Nashville area and the surrounding states.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Restaurant Launch Support

  • Lead training sessions for new hires, including front-of-house and back-of-house staff.

  • Oversee on-site training during the pre-opening and opening phases of new restaurants.

  • Conduct hands-on training sessions on various operational tasks, such as food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation.

  • Demonstrate and supervise proper cleaning and sanitization procedures to maintain high hygiene standards.

  • Guide staff through point-of-sale (POS) system operations, including order taking, payment processing, and handling transactions.

  • Facilitate role-playing exercises to help staff practice real-life scenarios and improve their problem-solving skills.

  • Ensure all kitchen staff are trained in food safety regulations, portion control, and recipe adherence.

  • Monitor staff performance during the opening period, providing immediate feedback and additional training as needed.

  • Implement soft opening procedures, including mock service sessions to prepare staff for the official opening day.

  • Training Program Development:

  • Assist with development and revisions to training materials and programs tailored for new restaurant openings.

  • Ensure training programs are aligned with company standards and operational procedures.

  • Provide feedback to Senior Director of Training & Development to ensure training materials reflect menu changes, new technologies, and industry best practices.

  • Train staff on customer service excellence, including greeting guests, taking orders, and handling complaints.

  • Ensure all kitchen staff are trained in food safety regulations, portion control, and recipe adherence.

  • Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure all training activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback.

  • Supervise and assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing supplies.

  • Implement improvements based on feedback and operational needs.

  • May travel to operating locations to recalibrate or provide additional service training.

  • Coordination and Communication:

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Training & Development and other key leadership to coordinate training schedules and resources.

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and consistency in training practices.

  • Manage training-related administrative tasks, including scheduling, reporting, and maintaining training records.

  • Provide feedback to Senior Director of Training & Development to ensure training materials reflect menu changes, new technologies, and industry best practices.

    Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in restaurant operations, with at least 2 years in a training or management role.

  • Proven track record of successfully opening new restaurant locations.

  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and training software/tools.
