WestRock Company Regional Manufacturing Maintenance Manager in Nashville, Tennessee

The Opportunity:

The Regional Manufacturing Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintenance, optimization, reliability, and operational performance programs for assigned recycle plants including improving equipment safety. This role also supports division wide initiatives related to capital development and deployment and Performance Excellence programs.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Helps in the development and implementation of recycle plant operating processes and procedures through collaborating with stakeholders across the division to ensure proper preventative maintenance programs, operational standards, and that project management protocol is followed.

  • Assigns responsibilities, timelines for preventative maintenance and project milestones. Ensures timely and effective resolution through metrics and clear project plans.

  • Establishes culture of safety, ownership, quality, and operational performance. Supports this with metrics, engagement and accountability of others and self.

  • Ensures assigned facilities are aligned with other recycle plant operations and have consistent understanding of equipment success criteria and measurements including common equipment performance metrics and KPI\u2019s.

  • Provides support and guidance needed to minimize and control downtime events and achieve uptime and equipment capability performance goals. Work closely with plants to help support a common preventive maintenance program for each site in assigned region.

  • Develops capabilities within the local plant team to ensure coordination with all stakeholders and execution of plans.

  • Supports the effective utilization of teams and the use of problem-solving tools to drive improvement and actively participate in six sigma, DMAIC and Kaizen projects.

  • Identifies and drives operational excellence and improves priorities to eliminate waste and improve results.

  • As a key decision maker around equipment optimization, understands and communicates priorities while building consensus and buy in.

  • Leads and provides input and support on Capital and Major Projects including but not limited to project development, justification, equipment sourcing selection and project management as needed.

  • Applies lean manufacturing principles when identifying and sharing SOP\u2019s and best practices.

  • Works closely with peers and manager to ensure appropriate coverage and resources across all Recycle plant operations.

  • Creates an atmosphere that encourages engagement and drives results.

  • Champions projects and tasks in accordance with WestRock\u2019s policies and procedures to motivate and foster teamwork.

  • Coaches others and provides on-going feedback and support to improve equipment performance.

  • Identifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals, teams, and the organization.

What You Need:

  • BA or BS degree and/or 10+ years relevant experience

  • 10+ years of operations, maintenance, project management experience.

  • 3+ years of experience working with remote projects.

  • Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice, up to 50-75% of the time.

  • Leader in performance excellence focused on continual performance improvement.

  • Understanding of financials with the ability to support building business models around system and process enhancements.

  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electric with ability to read schematics and troubleshoot.

  • Familiar with networks and IP addressing preferred.

  • PLC, operating and control system experience including data acquisition platforms preferred.

  • Experience in recycling operations preferred.
