Job Summary and Qualifications

Assists/leads in the development, customization,configuration, and support of the systems associated with the Case Managementorganization of HCA Healthcare.

Systems include but are not limited to:

MIDAS+ - Vendor supported client-server application operating as a rules-based workflow engine, and repository for tracking all case management activities

MEDITECH/Expanse/Epic/Cerner - HL7 and FTP bi-directional real-time or batch interfaces for synchronizing information being captured in both application systems.

Careport Discharge– Integrated web application for managing communications with external providers and other entities.

• InterQual – Externally hosted HTTPS application for managing patient care while staying in compliance with regulatory requirements.

This position works closely with a variety of team resources to ensure systems are built and deployed to satisfy the needs of the business:

Project Managers - Responsible for working with project manager to define document and complete deliverables related to ITG Case Management, ISO, and Business Operations projects.

Business Analyst - Responsible for working with business owners to define and document business requirements for new enhancements to above applications

Technical - Collaboration is required with technical resources both at corporate and in the field in various capacities including systems design, quality assurance, and customer support.

External Vendors – Frequent interaction with technical and functional representatives of our system’s vendors.

Clinical - Communicate with key clinical resources to aid in the deployment of new technology and participate in problem identification and resolution.

Business Technology Team – Work and collaborate with key business technology team resources to assist in the deployment of new technology, enhancements of the products within the Case Management, Utilization Review, Clinical Document Integrity areas, and participate in problem identification and resolution.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose and provide resolution of application and hardware related issues.

Work with other internal and external ITG resources to diagnose and resolve system issues. Good problem solving skills is a must.

Proactive and able to identify potential issues and can come up with solutions that can be shared with supervisor.

Research and resolve issues identified in application systems and interfaces.

Assist in the deployment of enhancements and other changes in the organization.

Work with ITG representatives to ensure activities are completed correctly and on schedule.

Provide assistance for coordination of deployment and configuration activities.

Assist with technical activities at corporate and in the field associated with the deployment of any technologies used by Case Managers, CDI, and Utilization Review teams in HCA Healthcare facilities.

Understands change management processes and can work with ITG representatives in corporate office to ensure completed code is migrated properly from one environment to another.

Provide assistance and input for development of the Case Management reporting and monitoring efforts.

Support the Midas implementations in newly acquired facilities.

Communication

Provide research and resolution of issues identified in the application and interfaces.

Keep team and team manager updated on active issues and efforts to resolve.

Work closely with team members to translate highly technical information and activities into meaningful knowledge to support decision making of ITG and Business Technology leaders.

Facilitate and host meetings related to assigned projects and support topics.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION

BS/BA or equivalent college experience preferred

EXPERIENCE

3 or more years of applicable work experience is needed

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this position has an IT product analysis background with strong communication skills with various audiences, and ability to guide other team members in project tasks

Software implementations experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

Understanding of HL7, data transfers, and communication between disparate hospital systems is preferred

Midas experience is preferred

MEDITECH 5.6, Expanse, Cerner, EPIC or other equivalent HIM systems experience is required
