The Sr. Topology and Planning Manager will engage work on the rural and super rural expansion strategy, developing tools, analyses, and iterative strategic planning models to help enable the rural distribution, real estate, and coverage plan for Amazon in far-reaching regions. This role will lead the strategic development of Amazon's rural and super-rural network expansion, with key focus on consolidating PORs across multiple sectors and optimizing current and future jurisdiction plan, while maintaining a portfolio of innovative pilots/solutions. This role will drive new initiatives and core delivery site (DS) portfolio optimization while developing comprehensive analytical frameworks for emerging markets.

The ideal candidate has experience working with unique sets of data, troubleshooting gaps and risks to plan, and working cross functionally amongst multiple stakeholder groups.

Key job responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Develop and maintain core DS portfolio management strategies, including 3-4 differing sectors.

• Engineer databases and automated systems for long-term strategic planning

• Create executive dashboards visualizing multi-scenario planning models

• Lead cross-functional teams in developing rural expansion roadmaps

• Produce reports capturing progress for all sectors of the RSR expansion business

• Maintain the POR and produce OP and Planning cycle files for OP1, OP2, and Quarterly Guidance Cycles

A day in the life

A day in the lift of a Sr. Topology Expansion Manager begins by analyzing critical network adjustments within the Rural/Super Rural POR portfolio, addressing high-priority site changes and reviewing newly identified closure risks that impact the expansion strategy. They lead deep-dive sessions focused on portfolio optimization, leveraging their reporting tools to validate network modeling assumptions and forecast rural coverage scenarios that align with long-term business objectives.

They will liaise with key stakeholders, contribute to model changes in line with our long range plan, and establish tenets / standard work for improving our suite of tools and reports for leadership planning cycles.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
