Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform welding and general fabrication activities. These activities include the repair of baskets, fabrication of jigs and fixtures and other general welding associated with the repair or fabrication of plant equipment. This position will also be responsible for other general duties related to plant maintenance and to provide general assistance to other maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General welding & Fabrication (railings, carts, etc.).

  • Perform basket repairs.

  • Fabricate jigs & fixtures.

  • Assist maintenance personnel as needed with non-technical repairs.

  • Assist with Pyrometry requirements.

  • Help other personnel assigned to maintenance projects set up, carry out, and clean up the assigned work.

  • Integrate work with other maintenance and project work to cause minimal disruption.

  • Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.

  • Perform temporary assignments in other departments as needed.

  • Recognize jobs, which are abnormal or beyond your ability to perform properly; get instructions, and proceed with the work as appropriate.

  • Learn to operate new equipment that is added to the department.

  • Perform preventative maintenance duties such as grease and oil, belts and filters, etc.

  • Assist with the movement or installation of equipment.

  • Employee required working in small places & high areas.

  • Perform daily service of equipment such as washer, air compressor, etc.

  • Clean inside equipment and tanks.

  • Run sweeper throughout plant, broom sweep & clean as needed.

  • Pick up debris from the grounds around the plant and sweep the parking lot as needed.

  • Perform minor building maintenance such as painting and light replacement.

  • Perform ground maintenance as needed.

  • Weld mild steel and stainless alloys as required.

  • Assist in the moving of office furniture and/or supplies to various locations.

  • Travel to and participate in job-related conventions, meetings, and training. Such travel may include overnight stays of one or more nights.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • Requires a general knowledge of instrumentation and welding.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, this includes THC.

    License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

  • Must be to obtain a forklift certification.
