Job Summary and Qualifications

Oversees and executes clinical, operational, and workflow initiatives for Emergency Services. The position will be responsible for supporting development and execution of the organizational systems, processes and talent that support and enable achievement of the Emergency Services strategic agenda. The Clinical Director will be responsible for supervising any Clinical and Operational Managers on the Emergency Services team. This role requires up to 75% Travel. Must be located and/or relocate to Nashville.

Major Responsibilities:

•Support execution of the Emergency Services strategic agenda across organization.

•Serve as a knowledgeable resource for information about clinical care, and subsequent workflow, of patients in the emergency room, and for decision-making affecting the care of these patients.

•Provide expertise to multidisciplinary groups at the corporate, division and facility level to ensure key clinical and quality initiatives are in alignment with organizational priorities.

•Assist facility leaders to implement best practices within the ER and identify clinical improvement and cost savings initiatives.

•Identify, design, and lead clinical and operational program and safety improvement projects. Ensure that ongoing operational improvements reflect best practices and/or address actual and potential system vulnerabilities.

•Review and trend data to identify and resolve potential system vulnerabilities.

•Provide leadership and assists in organizational planning and implementation of technology and automation systems.

•Identify key process opportunities in an emergency room during assigned assessments, and offer solutions to assist facility with action plan development.

•Support execution of nursing strategy and programs in emergency services.

•Provide subject matter knowledge emergency services in relation to enhancement requests for EHR documentation.

•Through data analysis and critical thinking, identify highest-value opportunities to proposed solutions to clinical workflow and operational barriers.

•Maintain effective communication with corporate, division, and facility leadership teams

•Facilitate education, research and other professional activities.

•Drive a culture of safety for emergency services. Model optimal behavior and encourages others to participate in safety initiatives.

•Support onboarding and development of ER Directors & ER Medical Directors across organization.

•Partner with vendors to ensure quality initiative alignment.

•Attend meetings and participate in committees as required.

•Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”

•Continue professional development.

•Effectively manage personal project work, and that of any direct reports.

•Support integration of technology into ER operational practice.

Education & Experience:

•Master’s Degree required

•3+ years of experience in a Nursing Leadership or above role required

•1+ year(s) of experience in ER Director. Free standing ER experience highly preferred.

•7+ years of experience in emergency nursing required

•Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation required

•Certified nursing leader or emergency room nurse required within one year of hire required
