Given our continued growth, we have immediate role available for a highly motivated Sr Principal Hardware Engineer to join our Transition to Production, Production Support and Sustainment team as a Lead supporting the EPAWSS Product Line. In this role, you will have a chance to grow your skills supporting the continued production and sustainment of various complex Digital and Microwave modules, submodules, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems utilized across multiple projects. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cutting-edge hardware fielded on the most advanced Military Platforms.

This role on EPAWSS as an Engineering Lead for Production and NRE you will need to driving Yield Improvements through Test Maturations efforts. Role involves developing HW engineering strategic plan in partnership with Operations and ITE to identify and execute projects to improve test across EPAWSS. Improvement efforts are funded by and for the benefit of both PME production and discrete non-recurring engineering scope (Re-spins, Qual, Win10, Sustainment and TAPP). The role will involve coordination with the PEM for the Production contract, PEM for the NRE contract, and the program ITEL to determine targets and prioritization of initiatives as well as allocation of available funding. The lead will be responsible for the execution of projects, coordinating staffing, and briefing progress to program & TacAir leadership. Identification and mitigation planning of key risks and single points of failure to balance limited stand / resource availability will be a critical part of successfully executing the role. The lead will also interface with an affordability Tiger Team to ensure HW/ITE Test projects are aligned with overall program UPC objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Production and Test Yield Improvement Initiatives :

  • Drive strategic initiatives related to Production and Test

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve program goals.

  • Collaboration with Affordability Tiger Team to ensure Project achieve UPC goals

  • Box Lead Experience :

  • Manage critical aspects of production, including box builds and assembly.

  • Ensure smooth integration of components and systems.

  • High-Priority Activity Management :

  • Prioritize and manage urgent tasks to meet production deadlines.

  • Address critical issues promptly.

  • Cost Account Management :

  • Monitor production costs, budgets, and financial performance.

  • Optimize resource allocation.

  • 8D Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) :

  • Lead or support 8D investigations to identify and resolve production issues.

  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Customer Communication :

  • Interface with customers to understand requirements and address concerns.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration :

  • Work across various program disciplines (engineering, quality, operations) to resolve issues and achieve project objectives.

  • Multi-Functional Team Management :

  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Foster collaboration and teamwork.

  • Performance Metrics Development :

  • Develop and track production performance metrics:

  • Hours per unit

  • Yield

  • Defects per unit

  • Cost of goods history

  • Unit price

  • Planning and Scheduling :

  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules (IMS).

  • Plan headcount requirements.

  • Interface with Operations and Systems Engineering :

  • Support the transition to production.

  • Resolve integration and requirements issues.

  • Test Expertise :

  • Integration testing, requirements development, and troubleshooting.

  • Contracts Understanding :

  • Interpret Statement of Work (SOW) and develop Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRLs).

  • Assist Program Engineering with Basis of Estimates (BOEs).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 12 Years with HS, 10 Years with AA, 8 Years with BS, 6 Years with MS, 4 Years with PhD

  • 10 years experience working on Electrical Designs

  • Depth of experience in any one of the following electrical domains: RF, Microwave, Power, Digital

  • Breadth of experience in multiple electrical domains

  • Experience testing and troubleshooting Printed Board Assemblies and Subsystems

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability.

  • Ability to close on discrete tasking in a timely manner and lead others to closure - Own the Design

  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Active or previously held Secret Clearance HIGHLY PREFERRED

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active Secret Clearance HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience gathering and analyzing test data to assess trends and develop yield improvement plans

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
