The salary grade for this position is NC10. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase may or may not result.

These positions are located in the Central Issuance/Quality Assurance Unit of Driver Services. Responsibilities include identifying and reviewing a customer’s out-of-state driver license numbers, images, signatures, and residential address verification to determine issuance eligibility. Position identifies and analyzes information provided through the NSOPR (National Sex Offender Public Registry). These positions have daily contact with customers, DL offices, DL Help Desk, Law Enforcement Agencies via telephone, email, and correspondence in order to authenticate, identify and verify confidential and sensitive information. Position utilizes systems such as SADLS, NDR, and CDLIS.

The program areas for this position includes one or more of the following: customer service in a help desk setting and experience analyzing and recommending DMV Driver Services related policy and procedural guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Extensive computer experience with proficiency in web-based applications, MS Office applications, and database management systems.

  • Customer service experience with a friendly, enthusiastic attitude, serving a diverse clientele and/or other agency contacts.

  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and recommending policy and procedural guidelines.

  • Experience in evaluation of information or documents to make determinations for actions.

  • Experience in disseminating accurate information with confidentiality.

  • Experience in an office environment maintaining and updating files, records, and reports as well as organizing and coordinating workflow and activities.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
