Maintenance Electrician

Job Description:

Campbell’s is looking for two Maintenance Electricians to join our team in the soup & sauce and beverage divisions of our facility. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will primarily focus on electrical maintenance (90/10 electrical vs mechanical) and troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of automated equipment. You’ll work on filler machines , case packaging machines , labeling machines , cookers , conveyors , and more, ensuring everything runs smoothly in our production environment.

You will also handle troubleshooting for PLC systems (Allen Bradley, SLC 5000, and TI PLCs), work with VFDs (variable frequency drives) , and repair various electrical components including motors , servo motors , sensors , lights , and more. This role will require you to read blueprints and schematics and perform minor building maintenance in the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on a wide range of automated equipment, including filler machines, cookers, conveyors, labeling machines, and more.

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems (Allen Bradley, SLC 5000, and TI PLCs).

  • Work with Fanuc Depalletizer robots and troubleshoot related issues.

  • Pull wire and bend conduit ; wire and rewire control panels .

  • Install and troubleshoot VFDs (variable frequency drives) .

  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics .

  • Perform minor building maintenance as required.

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical and mechanical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

  1. Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience .

  2. Strong experience in electrical troubleshooting , with the ability to troubleshoot using PLCs.

  3. Ability to read blueprints and schematics and translate them into actionable solutions.

  4. Experience with VFDs and troubleshooting servo motors .

  5. Strong knowledge of ladder logic , especially with Allen Bradley PLCs .

  6. Ability to hand draw a schematic to control motor functions using a push button (required during interview).

Technical Questions to Ask:

  1. Are you fluent in ladder logic ? (Yes or No)

  2. Can you hand draw a schematic on how to turn a motor on with a push button?

  3. Can you translate how to turn a switch on by reading ladder logic ?

Work Environment:

  • Shifts: 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (depending on the division).

  • Work Hours: Expect 40-56 hours/week . Currently, 8-hour days, 7 days a week until the team expands to the required headcount.

  • Unionized role: You’ll be part of the UFCW Union from day 1.

  • Pay Structure (contract expiring March 17, 2025, with new rates expected):

  • B: $34.07/hr (based on experience and test results).

  • A: $35.17/hr (based on experience and test results).

  • AA: $36.67/hr (based on experience and test results).

  • Shift Premium: Additional $0.75/hr for 2nd and 3rd shift.

  • Direct Hire opportunity.
