The City of Naperville is looking for a Traffic and Parking Analyst to work as a Project Manager in the Transportation, Engineering and Development Business Group (TED). As a member of the Transportation Team, the Traffic and Parking Analyst works on a variety of programs and projects related to traffic and parking, including but not limited to bicycle, pedestrian, and vehicular travel, and commuter and downtown parking. The analyst participates in multi-disciplinary project teams and coordinates with multiple departments and outside agencies on local and regional projects. This position will focus on local traffic and parking concerns but may have the opportunity to get involved in other transportation programs, such as transit.

Duties
  • Addresses a variety of short and long-term transportation issues related to traffic and parking, including but not limited to bicycle, pedestrian, and vehicular travel, and commuter and downtown parking.
  • Conducts transportation, traffic, and parking studies and plans.
  • Analyzes and interprets data to recommend solutions to transportation challenges.
  • Manages parking programs, including downtown, commuter and overnight parking.
  • Responds to resident, business, and property owner concerns and requests related to traffic and parking.
  • Participates in the development of transportation policies.
  • Prepares documents and recommendations for the Transportation Advisory Board and City Council, as well as other boards, commissions, and task forces.
  • Attends meetings and makes presentations to boards, commissions, task forces, and City Council, as needed.
  • Manages the selection of and supervises the work of consultants and contractors working on transportation programs, projects, and studies.
  • Coordinates with other City departments on transportation matters.
  • Performs field work as it pertains to transportation matters.
Qualifications

Required Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field
  • One or more years of transportation engineering or transportation planning experience
  • A valid State of Illinois Class D Drivers License

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of traffic operations
