Position Summary:

The College of Western Idaho's Advanced Mechatronics Engineering (AMET) program is looking for an adjunct faculty member. Adjunct faculty teach assigned courses by the College’s established policies and guidelines, and assist in student advising. Adjunct faculty are required to use the Blackboard learning platform for all assignments, grading, posting office hours, making announcements, etc. This position may require a work schedule that includes teaching courses that run M-F during the day or T, W, and TH during the evening.

Essential Functions:

• Teach AMET curriculum, as assigned; may include Digital Circuits and Application, or Industrial Communications (this course includes standard automated manufacturing communications protocols and some basic telecommunications).

• Develop daily lesson plans, and teaching aids, using appropriate technologies

• Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process

• Assess student outcomes and provide regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students

• Complete professional development and in-service activities by college standards

• Maintain expertise in the subject area and implement improvements in curriculum design, as needed

• Maintain industry connections to assure curriculum consistency with employer needs

• Perform academic advising and graduate job placement referrals and assistance

• Participate in Departmental and College meetings

• Convey through word and action the values expected by CWI

• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years of Industry experience acquired by full-time, successful employment in applicable field

• Associate degree or higher in Electronics or Mechatronics related discipline

Successful candidates are required to reside in Idaho by the first day of work for the College of Western Idaho.
