Job title: Production Manager

Duties: Manage processing production operations of the plant. Participate in Operational Excellence project meeting project team. Leverage advanced engineering skillsets to optimize production goals. Ensure reliability of plant equipment and maintenance downtime at the lowest possible standard per shift for production areas assigned. Assume responsibility for product quality and continuous improvement. Develop processes to assist with attainment of production and volume goals through improvement of efficiencies, minimizing downtime through engineering controls, and reducing costs through elimination of excess raw material, and increasing volume attainment through process flow management. Ensure production flow is consistent, throughput is monitored, and efficiency targets are met. Ensure transfer of finished product from production floor to storage area is performed within standard operating procedure. Coordinate production, maintenance, sanitation, quality, shipping, and receiving areas. Monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield, and quality goals. Set objectives and reviewing shift's performance versus objectives. Ensuring sanitation meets USDA standards. Coordinate production and sanitation maintenance to meet daily needs. Analyze equipment daily and reviewing with maintenance superintendent. Provide a clear sense of direction to achieve goals and establishing challenging goals and standards. Ensure effective utilization of resources. Monitor operations to meet company policies, quality specifications, and USDA and OSHA standards. Conduct plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions. Manage all aspects of operations to assure a safe working environment. Take immediate action to eliminate improper practices or hazardous conditions.

Requirements: Bachelors (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. 3 months of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Systems Engineer, Trainee or related. Experience must include: Implementing lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve production efficiency. Utilizing six sigma methodologies to lead and execute improvement projects, applying expertise in food safety standards and regulations to ensure 100% compliance with USDA and FDA requirements. Applying expertise in supply chain optimization to streamline inventory management. Use of project management tools, including Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 for planning, scheduling, and managing engineering projects and resources.
