Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transportation activities with internal and external customers, including tracking and tracing as appropriate. Work with Procurement, Shipping and Customer Service and other MSA departments as needed.
  • Ensure that all transportation related concerns are resolved and communicated appropriately. Interact with carriers to resolve issues and to drive efficiencies.
  • Expedite or defer finished goods materials from suppliers to meet unforeseen changes in demand
  • Develop transportation processes to efficiently move and deliver our products to meet the customer's expectations. Use analytical capabilities to find ways to drive down transportation spending while maintaining service levels.
  • Assist in negotiating and administering contracts for parcel and truck carriers.
  • Support international cross-trade freight movements Qualifications Special knowledge, skill and abilities required:
  • Proven ability to model disciplined execution following deadline-driven and well-organized achievement of detailed standard work.
  • Demonstrated innovative and technological mindset to ensure master data integrity and utilize ERP system effectively and diligently.
  • Sound ability to make data driven and analytical decisions.
  • Proven success in challenging the status quo to drive continuous improvement promoting the use of root cause problem solving, valuing new ideas, inspiring others, and demonstrating effective use of change management principles.
  • Proven success in building partnerships, influencing others, and communicating effectively both in verbal and written form.
  • Demonstrated capability of managing internal and external supplier community with results-driven mentality.
  • Ability to prioritize personal development by modeling a growth mindset, demonstrating openness to feedback, and pursuing ongoing learning.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% domestically.

Education required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or related field. Experience required:
  • Level II: 2 or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, or related field
  • Level II: 4 or more years of experience in Transportation, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, or related field Education preferred:
  • APICS, IBF or ISM certifications Experience preferred:
  • Experience in SAP Sales and Distribution Module or similar ERP system
