POSITION SUMMARY: Provides support in patient care and in carrying out therapeutic activities as directed by the therapist in a team environment consistent with professional practices and ethical standards. Provides cleaning and preparation of treatment areas and equipment as established by the department. The employee will complete other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Demonstrated the ability to perform therapeutic activities as directed by and under supervision of a licensed therapist

  2. Demonstrated the ability to perform basic patient monitoring (i.e. blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate), equipment set-up, and knowledge of precautions / contraindications of therapeutic techniques and or modalities

  3. Provided daily cleaning and preparation of treatment areas / equipment as established by the department.

  4. Performs and completes end of month cleaning, necessary logs, and maintains clinic inventory

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete required orientation as directed by facility

  • Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment

  • Follow facility and Joint Commission guidelines and recommendations

  • Respect cultural and religious practices of patients

  • Uphold HIPAA regulations

  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION : High School Degree Required

EXPERIENCE : Experience working in healthcare setting with direct patient contact preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES : Ability to utilize therapy equipment in a Tidelands Health rehabilitation setting to provide treatment and procedures as directed is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium-Heavy: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 35 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 15 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
