Join Our Team as a Casual Respiratory Therapist at UPMC Muncy!
Are you a skilled respiratory therapist looking for a flexible and rewarding opportunity? UPMC Muncy is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team on a casual basis, working rotating three—12-hour shifts per six-week schedule to maintain casual status.
Applicants will be placed into the appropriate job title and salary based on individual education, experience, and certifications.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment: Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to determine the best treatment plans.
Therapy Administration: Set up and operate respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring optimal treatment parameters and patient safety.
Emergency Response: Assist in transporting mechanically ventilated patients and respond to all code situations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient charts and order equipment repairs as needed.
Education & Supervision: Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and supervise students during their training.
Clinical Evaluation: Monitor patients’ physiological responses to therapy and perform pulmonary function tests to aid in diagnosis.
Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory program.
Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in Pennsylvania.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Ongoing certification maintenance as required by the NBRC.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
