Job Description:

A successful Working Team Lead will demonstrate the ability to put people and process first at all times within assigned cost center to ensure Milwaukee Tool’s unwavering devotion to a robust culture. This position is the standard bearer for who we are and the obsession we have with being the market leader in Hand Tools. A Working Team Lead is charged with overseeing the safety, quality, productivity, and training linked to their assigned cost center. The ability to effectively communicate to the team is crucial to the continued success and development of the personnel and equipment managed. Through resourcing of materials, timely set-ups, and directing of equipment operators, the Working Team Lead position is tasked with the tactical day-to-day success of their assigned equipment, to include safety, quality, and efficiency.

The position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates daily priorities based on direction of supervision

  • Contributor to daily production goals as this is a direct labor role

  • Ensures team constantly exceeds quality standards to minimize rework

  • Ensures team constantly exceeds efficiency metrics

  • Ensures timely job changeovers by utilizing team as effectively as possible

  • Is the primary developer of personnel on assigned equipment through training and on the spot corrections.

  • Mitigates all barriers to the development of their team.

  • Verifies work instruction accuracy and ensures their team is utilizing the process.

  • Ensures their team follows Lean/6S processes on their equipment

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Proven high performer through internal review process

  • Proven communication skills to effectively escalate issues

  • Demeanor to effectively communicate and lead team members

  • Proven proficiency as a trainer having successfully developed team members

  • Exceptional attention to detail

Education and/or Experience:

  • Culture Champion

  • 1-2yrs. of production experiencepreferred

  • Ability to interpret quality and work instructions

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • The employee may be required to occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 70 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Occasionalbending, crouching, twisting, reaching

  • Employees may be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain work cells
