Logistics Manager - Evansville, IN

Job Responsibilities:

  • Send Traffic and Snips to customers as requested

  • Expedite barge movements through daily updates and inquiries

  • Check all locations with ARTCO barges, for completed barges load or empty, and schedule accordingly

  • Schedule and or book out all barges that need rides to meet contractual obligations

  • Coordinate barge delivery/pick-up with Customers

  • Inform all boats of pick-up and drop orders 24 to 36 hours prior to arrival or as soon as operationally possible

  • Learn and understand the capabilities of assigned fleets, assist in inventory management and horsepower allocation.

  • Stay current in all Fleetcom Billing, prelims, unbilled reports, and overlapping fleeting reports

  • Notify customers of any known delays due to weather or horsepower issues

  • Communicate necessary orders/information to relief and local management when applicable

  • Track cleanings at Owensboro to ensure we are hitting our required amounts

  • Schedule Piers, Cleaning dock, and Repair Barges

  • Send out Night Notes daily on items going on.

Qualifications and Competencies:

The coordinator will be hands-on, resourceful, possess a strong work ethic and professional persona in addition to the following:

  • Field after hours phone calls/emails

  • Work closely within a team

  • Communicate effectively

  • Identify break-downs within the group work flow patterns/execution and implement efficient solutions.

  • Computer Efficiency – Specific to Microsoft Word and Excel/ Intercompany systems

  • Accurate data entry and record keeping skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Time management skills

  • 2-4 year degree or equivalent, relative work experience
