Job Description

At Linked, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days,as determined by the business needs of the team.

We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Vice President of R&D Regulatory Compliance to lead R&D for LinkedIn’s global compliance initiatives. This is a critical and visible role, overseeing the R&D programs and developing the technology that enables LinkedIn to adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and policies while fostering a culture of trust and accountability.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance Leadership: Develop and implement LinkedIn’s R&D compliance strategy and supporting processes, ensuring products and technology systems are compliant with new regulatory requirements as they emerge and integrating compliance-by-design principles into all systems.

Policy and Program Oversight: In partnership with our legal and other stakeholders, create and enforce company-wide compliance programs, including training initiatives, monitoring and reporting, internal audits, and awareness campaigns.

Regulatory Risk Management: Identify and assess regulatory risks, developing mitigation frameworks to protect the company’s operations and reputation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with legal, HR, product, and engineering teams to integrate compliance into all aspects of LinkedIn’s operations.

Regulatory Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry groups, representing LinkedIn in discussions and negotiations.

Incident Management: Lead responses to regulatory investigations, audits, and compliance-related incidents, ensuring timely resolution.

Team Development: Build and manage a high-performing R&D regulatory compliance team, fostering a culture of ethical behavior and accountability.

Basic Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a focus on compliance, privacy, security or trust.

10+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.

5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or related fields.

Proven track record of managing compliance for global organizations, particularly in the tech industry.

In-depth knowledge of data privacy laws, content and competition regulations, and industry-specific compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience navigating global regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, DMA and similar.

Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to manage complex compliance programs.

Exceptional problem-solving and risk management abilities.

Demonstrated success in regulatory engagement and collaboration with policymakers.

Ability to work closely with senior leadership to align compliance efforts with business goals.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $284,000 to $466,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
