Intuit Software Engineer 2 - Database Engineer in Mountain View, California

We’re looking for a passionate software engineer to help us in scaling our infrastructure for 10x growth with our business entering new market segments such as mid-market, global and enterprise customers.

Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace (https://www.intuit.com/careers/return-to-work-plan/) , giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our Mountain View, CA office two or more days per week.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience of MySQL DBA, Development and Operational experience.

  • Solid understanding of MySQL with ability to set up the environment, troubleshoot, and diagnose production issues.

  • Experience with AWS services and hands-on knowledge of hosting on cloud.

  • Experience with Operating large scale database systems in Production.

How you will lead

  • Ability to understand monolith-based software systems with complex business logic served to 1M customers.

  • Independently troubleshoot incoming production and pre-production issues and timely resolve.

  • Resident expert in MySQL and Aurora Postgre with hands-on experience

  • Contribute to infrastructure changes to AWS with deep understanding of AWS services.

  • Engage with multiple functional teams to coordinate DB changes with adhering best practices.

  • Engage in on-call for production systems and take action for incoming pagers/alerts.

  • Lead projects from design, execute with stakeholder alignment and 100% ownership of roll out to production.

  • Contribute to major system upgrades, deployment automation, monitoring enhancements and Production changes.

  • Ability to create operational playbooks, contribute to how-to articles, and gain domain knowledge to drive changes in the team.
