The Product Application Infrastructure team is architecting the framework for the next generation of LinkedIn's consumer and enterprise client applications. As a Senior Software Engineer on iOS, you will design and develop core user experience components and widgets, establish the underlying infrastructure, collaborate with product engineering teams, and provide architectural guidance. Your role will enable these teams to efficiently experiment and build their applications.

Responsibilities:

You will design and execute user-facing features for the native LinkedIn app on iOS devices by leveraging mobile operating system frameworks for multi-threading, persisting data, and managing user experience and graphics across multiple screen sizes.

You will use the latest cutting edge technologies and libraries suggested by Apple for building responsive native apps for iOS.

You will build scalable native mobile apps using LinkedIn’s internal libraries.

You will make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speed and quality.

You will produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

You will provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs.

You will identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.

Basic Qualifications

BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

2+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.

2+ years programming experience in languages such as Objective-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin, Python, Javascript.

BS and 5+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 4+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 2+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS and 5+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 4+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 2+ years of relevant work experience.

Extensive programming experience in Objective-C, Java, Kotlin and/or C++.

Expansive technical knowledge and experience with mobile application development (iOS, Android).

Experience in designing and building application infrastructure and services at large scale.

Experience developing multi-tier scalable and user-centric reliable applications that operate 24x7.

Deep foundation in computer science with a strong understanding in data structures, and algorithms.

Strong object-oriented skills including design, coding, and testing patterns.

The pay range for this role is $121,000 to $198,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
