The People Experience & Delivery (PXD) team provides responsive day to day People & Culture (P&C) support and generalist advice, operating as trusted advisors for Google DeepMind’s (GDM) Leaders and Managers. They build leadership and manager capabilities, deliver operational excellence within bespoke GDM people processes, and gather and analyse employee experience insights to support the P&C needs of the organization and drive high performance across GDM. Our team collaborates closely with other stakeholders across the GDM, Google, and Alphabet People & Culture teams to deliver a world-class employee experience. We support the learning and development of each member of our team and provide both training and practical experience to support the cultivation of generalist expertise. This is an exciting and varied generalist role.

The Role
This role is embedded in our People Operations team, which sits within the wider People and Culture (P&C) team, and reports to the Head of People Operations based in London, UK. The role leads a team of PXD Partners based in the region, and works in close partnership with the P&C Partnering team to ensure operational excellence within the delivery of the PXD Partnering strategy.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of PXD Partners. Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement within, and beyond, the immediate team.
Accountable for the delivery of the GDM PXD Partnering strategy within the region, through effective management of the team, and partnership with Google and other vendors as appropriate.
Lead planning and prioritisation activity for the team, setting objectives, and supporting the team to reprioritise where necessary to respond to changing organisational needs.
Employee Experience
Ensure leaders and managers receive expert advice, guidance and consultation on people-related matters, and scope and implement scalable strategies to build manager and leader capability; act as an escalation point for complex cases.
Define, oversee, and monitor the PXD Partner operating model and service levels within the region, including location specific support strategies where relevant, and continuous improvement.
Ensure a quality employee experience; develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
Establish a data-informed decision-making culture within the team through use of data and analytics to track key metrics, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of people & culture programs; ensure key insights are regularly shared and used to form recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient and effective people operations processes, ensuring compliance with local legislation and regulation.
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate processes to improve operational efficiency in collaboration with others across GDM and Google.
Consult on operational excellence across the P&C ecosystem, including collaboration where relevant on cross-functional, critical projects.
Strategic Partnership & Stakeholder Management
Proactively work with Heads of P&C Partnering and other P&C Partners to ensure operational excellence within the delivery of the PXD Partnering strategy, using data trends, business insights, and an understanding of the needs of the organisation to shape the strategy.
Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across GDM, Google, and Alphabet to ensure alignment and support of key people initiatives, anticipating their needs and strategically influencing decision-making to champion organisational changes.
Provide strategic partnership to P&C Centres of Excellence to ensure successful operational delivery of key P&C cyclical processes exclusive to GDM, in partnership with CoEs.
About You

You are an experienced people manager who enjoys coaching, mentoring and developing others to achieve their potential.
You are experienced in designing, implementing, and evaluating people processes to optimize for the needs of the organization.
You have broad, generalist HR knowledge and expertise across topics including, but not limited to, people policies, performance management, talent management, employee engagement & listening, reorganizations, conflict resolution.
You proactively ensure your Employment Law expertise for the region you lead is up-to-date.
You are collaborative and work best as part of a team.
You build impactful relationships with others and are adept at flexibly influencing others.
You navigate change effectively, handling unexpected challenges and complexity with composure.
You are experienced in finding, analysing, and interpreting data to generate insights and recommendations.
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
Experience in working with global teams and navigating cultural differences.
Experience working in the AI industry.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $156,000 - $247,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
