Microsoft Corporation Director, Business Planning - Modern Work Growth in Mountain View, California

The Monetization and Business Planning (M+BP) team is responsible for monetization strategy, pricing, and packaging for the multi-billion dollar Microsoft Cloud products portfolio. To deliver on this broad charter, we’ve built a center of excellence with an industry-leading reputation for strategic thought leadership.

This leadership position is within the Modern Work Business Planning team which is responsible for the monetization of Microsoft 365 products. More specifically, the role will focus on driving growth for the Microsoft 365 portfolio by growing the business in underpenetrated segments and building world-class horizontal capabilities to scale the business.

The ideal candidate is a data-driven business leader with experience leading product management or monetization teams and a knack for making the complex simple. This person thinks strategically, moves with urgency and has a track record of driving growth through business model innovation. Responsibilities

• Define and execute our monetization strategy for strategic audiences such as Frontline Workers, Emerging Markets, Non-profits, Public Sector customers

• Develop a holistic, high-ROI promotional offer strategy in partnership with Finance, GTM, and MCAPS

• Collaborate with Business Development to build high-value strategic partnerships with specialized distribution partners to drive growth in untapped segments

• Establish the excellence in licensing and launch readiness collateral

• Influence stakeholders across teams, including senior executives and members of Microsoft SLT

• Shape product investments and influence roadmaps working closely with product marketing and engineering teams

• Lead with empathy as you develop, attract, and retain a diverse and inclusive team

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field

  • OR 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years people and team management experience with a focus on modeling, coaching, and caring for employees

Business Planning M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
