About the role

Leads shift operations and directs vendors and subcontractors. Applies advanced skills to perform sophisticated corrective repair and preventive maintenance of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance. Applies several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.

What you’ll do

  • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

  • Direct shift operations, assigns work orders, and/or provide technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors. Arrange for subcontractors as needed.

  • Review monthly tenant service request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems.

  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by engineering staff. Determine that work is complete, equipment is fully functional and client space is in prime working condition.

  • Formulate and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.

  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieve environmental conditions prescribed by client.

  • Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair. Maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools and orders necessary materials to finish the tasks.

  • Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime to minimize business interruption and inconvenience.

  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Complete maintenance and repair records as needed.

  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 4 years of related experience in complete building maintenance.

  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.

  • Universal CFC certification required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles and to understand operating budgets. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

*California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The salary range is approximately 135 - 145,000. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
