Maintenance Repair Worker I

Salary: $16.61 per hour with scheduled raises

Job type: Full-time

Typical work schedule: Monday -- Friday, 8 am -- 4:30 pm with occasional early/late shifts

Job Objectives:

As a Maintenance Repair Worker, under the direction of a supervisor or lead worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of our facilities, including lawn care and landscaping, basic building repairs, general maintenance of lawn equipment, and custodial duties in restrooms, lobbies, and common customer areas. Additionally, this role involves picking up or delivering supplies and equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to ensure our facilities are kept in optimal condition.

 

Qualifications:

Education

·         High school diploma or equivalent

Skills and Experience

·         Two years of experience in a position similar to maintenance/building repair or custodial work desired.

·         Experience in performing unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance to buildings and grounds such as                          changing light ballasts and bulbs, repair drywall, painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, etc.

·         Landscaping and grounds maintenance including, mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching.

·         Experienced in performing minor repair and general maintenance of mowing equipment and repair tools                  assuring safe working order.

·         Snow/ice removal in parking lots, driveways and sidewalks using plow, blower, and shovel.

·         Operating and maneuvering a truck or van and 20' trailer.

·         Ability to provide custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, floor stripping/waxing, removing trash,                  stocking supplies, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, lobbies, and other common areas.

·         Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.

·         Basic computer skills and operation of a county provided cell phone.

·         Knowledge and adherence to safety policies and practices.

·         Regular and dependable attendance.

·         Ability to work independently and as a team and get along with others.
